Clean your tongue.
Just because you brushed your teeth doesn’t mean your entire mouth is clean. Your tongue is a hotbed for bacteria that creates bad breath. Debris from food, dead cells and other bacteria accumulate on your tongue throughout the day. Make sure you clean your tongue while brushing your teeth. A lot of toothbrushes actually have a tongue cleaner on the opposite side of the bristles.
Drink water throughout the day.
Drinking water throughout the day not only keeps you hydrated, it also keeps your breath fresh.
Mints don’t always work.
Mints only temporarily mask the funky smell coming from your mouth. If you have an important meeting or even a date, don’t rely on breath mints. Make sure to brush your teeth and rinse your mouth beforehand.
Watch what you eat.
Eating a high-protein, low-carb diet will work wonders for your breath. There is plenty of food good for dental health.
Rinse after coffee.
Drinking coffee wakes you up, but the smell of your breath after drinking it makes your coworkers want to stay away. Do the office a favor and rinse with mouthwash after drinking coffee.
Seriously, stop smoking. There are few things that smell worse than a seasoned smoker’s breath after taking a smoke break. Cigarettes provide absolutely no positive health benefits and make your breath smell like an ashtray.
